Repentance - A cleansing process

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us" (1 John 1:8-10) These verse got my attention as I studies the assigned reading. It's really easy to understand if we truly love and trust ourselves. I mean, we might think we're deceiving others, including our Father in Heaven by acting out as hypocrites, pretending nothing is wrong, but we're actually deceiving ourselves at the same time. It reminds me of a saying, "we should learn to love ourselves first before we love any other" This means, it takes everything about yourself to pursue a goal and a righteous decision. No matter what others say, maybe pointing fingers and judging with their own self-righteous verdicts, we should remember we're doing the best for ourselves, by repenting and get reborn again. This also pours more blessings and it should be a main target while we start the process, knowing that our Father in Heaven is aware of everything, especially the sincere desires of our hearts, whether we're truly willing to repent or not.
